Starting with Perdido Station. 3 chapters in. So far not liking the insect-spit and snot steampunk city that seems vaguely like it’s elliptical commentary about sexual politics. It’s like Ankh-Morpork but not funny.

I'm halfway through _the last days of new paris_ rn. Haven't read any other Mieville. I think it's interesting and unusual and well-crafted but I don't feel a spark, not sure if I'm a fan. Fans seem to like _Perdido Street Station_, I will give it a chance at some point.
