Have you ever “gone zombie” on an activity you lost interest in but couldn’t quit for practical reasons, like it being too lucrative to give up? I’m thinking like the writers/voice actors of The Simpsons. What’s a zombie Simpsons project from your life/career?

One of my strongest characteristics is inability to do this sustainably. I believe that the more you do x the more doing x is part of your identity/automaticity repertoire, and if doing x is wrong, it’s then akin to poison. So if I try, I get depressed and stop within days.

And I don’t think this is a 100% positive thing. Far from it. Any kind of shoddy product design hurts me. Startup circles have been a great pain mine. Overoptimizing, forcing short-sighted decisions based on some poorly gathered metrics, acting surprised when it fails. Ech.
