I don't see a good way to mount any motors or servos on such a frame.

yeah this is a simplified design study... the motor housing is actually inside the wheel, and the steering servo will sit on the ledge just above the wheel assembly (drive will need to be a gearmotor)

I would suggest adding more wheels, although a monowheel rover could have some so-far-unexplored advantages.
