While I’m enjoying the realism of The Expanse, I’ll admit I miss “shields down to 60%” and “warp core offline” campytech.

Weirdly, this has ruined Firefly for me. That show has a similar aesthetic but is much shallower and weaker... it’s the middle of the barbell. Either go full camp like Star Trek or full drama like The Expanse. Post-Civil war re-enactment cowboys in space doesn’t endure.

She is awesome. Great casting. The books are very easy reads too, if you want more once you get through it. They read like movies/tv. Each one pretty self contained story.
