I think this is less so advice than it is displaying bluntly two contrasting realities.
also, you captured the first two parts of my life pretty well - wow. never realized they were considered so dark. 
the darkness hits you as you start to recognize the significance of how much damage it did and how much repair work is needed to get back to the light side
that summarizes the point I am at in my life right now — recognizing that my realities are more so dark than the normal way children should be raised 
now doing internal repair work to become more embodied.
