I think
@Conaw has basically absorbed and transcended all that thinking to first order, Roam digests all those things and goes well beyond...2 replies 0 retweets 25 likes -

I once had a presentation that covered stuff up to around 2011-12 or so but lost it... afaik there's no history, but it probably wouldn't be too hard to construct one. But why do you need this? Seems like academic-historical interest.

yes definitely academic - historical interest, talk to a lot of people who are interested in one or two strands and i start insanely copy pasting one or two paragraphs from a bunch of different old articles until i've completely overwhelmed them - seems like one central history

If you want to write one, happy to review and help fill any gaps I spot. I think the best way to organize such a history would be 2 tracks -- speculative/conceptual/vaporware track (xanadu track) and actual working systems that were in use at least for a while. Theory/practice.
