Do you have anything that goes into detail on your definition of 'derping'? I see bits and piece of this everywhere, but wanna be able to cite something substantive on that idea. I watched the relevant south park episode the night it was aired.
I use it in the sense @noahpinion defined it somewhere... reiterating priors when presented with new information
