As these things go, the bean-can dad thing is one of the better outrage cycles, suited to the more discerning kind of Very Online mind. The conversations it is sparking are actually interesting rather than an ocean of tedious derp.
Conversation
This is why overall I believe in being Very Online as a better adaptive strategy for postmodernity than waldenponding. One illuminating thing like bean-can conversation is worth a thousand dumb-ass swamps where you learn nothing.

I suspect if we removed the withholding of food this wouldn’t get the same amount of attention, but majority of positions would remain the same. twitter.com/johnroderick/s…

Yeah, there's always going to be tedious derp, the question is whether anything worthwhile remains after you filter it out. In case, the answer is yes.

Deleted the tweets commenting on the ongoing figuring-out of bean-dad profile. No point adding fuel to the dumpster fire side of what is otherwise a good set of conversations.

Update and certified profiling result: Bean dad appears to be an okay guy with highly unsafe sarcasm habits for Twitter. This thread is now once more about compiling good responses to the can-opener conversation.
