Only explanation I can think of is that the gases were frozen and then cast in Perspex somehow before they could thaw.

Glass ampoules, people. Seal the gas in ampoule, seal the ampoule in plastic. Nothing unusual about it.

That makes sense; thank you. Switching gears a bit, I find it fascinating how this ends up being a sort of faith-based product, given the efforts one would need to actually verify its contents.
