Finally managed to get into The Expanse on the fourth attempt. Wonder why it took me so many tries. I think because the show feels a bit overproduced in the initial episodes. Not enough story so the detail feels opinionated but not in a salient way.

Now nearing end of Season 2. I generally like my canvas Galaxy scale, but I’m enjoying this solar system block party an unexpected amount. Helps that all these settings are p,aces we could actually get to with today’s technology.

I've blasted through books six and seven over the past couple days. The series is really good. Some of the characters are pure melodrama, but the plot and pacing is addictive as hell.

I believe the first book won a Hugo for best novel when it came out, and so I would pick those up if the show is losing you.
