remove all news articles from search results, return raw data or lightly annotated data only for most search queries instead. right now most search queries return a way too editorialized layer on top of the data you're looking for

Two ways - Teach consumers to surf the web better. - Teach creators to write for better discoverability. Need to bridge the gap between intent and content. Redesigning web for better search is too huge a project to start.

I think search indexes and search engines need to get unbundled. A solid amount of the time, i’m performing a search to find something i found before. I don’t need an objective/global index for that, i need a subjective/local one.

the same concept applies more broadly to different contexts, including social. I don’t want google or bing or whoever doing the collation. i want local-first (on the
@inkandswitch sense) embellished on-demand. - Show replies

Interface customizing - Google tries to search everything so needs to fit everything. Something like ListenNotes only needs to present podcast results so can be better fit to podcast search.

Retcon “PageRank” to not be named after Larry Page like any sane person would assume.
