My point is moonshots aren’t benchmarks at all. They’re defined by attraction/inspiration of a story more than difficulty. Beating benchmarks is only inspiring motivation for a narrow segment of people who have prowess-linked identity.

I get that. What I’m saying is the big moonshots you’re referring to are the most *elite* moonshots. So of course they’re small in number. The most elite of those is the Hawaii Ironman or soloing across Antarctica. But for most of us the real moonshot is more routine.
