There are some likable things, but at the cost of the original? Nah. I suspect we profoundly disagree on architecture and urbanism. Blasphemy time: i dislike mansions. Me: gentle density to Haussmann, respect to trad architecture as both style and heritage, storefronts ftw.

Yeah I’m definitely in the other end. Trad architecture can be for little tourist towns and museums. For actually living in I vastly prefer modern steel/glass/concrete with clean smooth lines and built around elevators, plumbing, deliveries, security...

Do you like walking in the city? I don't know your background (where you've lived), but for me it's all about walking in a place that has UX and meaning. I've lived in soviet hellscapes and cozy/busy euro cities. The clear difference in perception of community left an impression.
