So about 10k people dying per day now looks like. So that’s about 30% the daily death rate of WW2. About 150k people die everyday so this is a bump of premature deaths of up to 6% max. I’m guessing net +3-5%

I’ve basically done nothing extra selfless to help anyone, and nothing extra selfish to put people at extra risk. I guess I’m a neutral in World War C. This has me wondering what it would take to make me part of either the problem or solution on an acute collective action crisis.

Not sure about usage of word “premature” - in UK average age of ppl dying from Covid is at or above average life expectancy, with >80% suffering significant co-morbidities.

The virus response (coincidentally?) speeds up global wealth consolidation. Kill weaker players. Since the “supportive” act is the passive behavior of non-engagement, doing nothing is “helping”. Both. Sadly.
