Poll: Only for people raised in the West with no direct experience of Asia. What western analogy does the phrase “Asian collectivism” suggest to you?

Ok, I don't see it as an "involuntary" group, but Asian collectivism seems similar to a family groups w/ shared economic interests like Hutterites. Maybe this is what you meant by Scottish clan? If that's what you meant by Scottish clan, I'd like to change my answer.

The vibes I get from this suggest a sort of group consciousness I’ve only seen in high school cliques. Probably this is an element of Scottish clans, and early American Christian groups like the Quakers. I probably wouldn’t associate it with Christian traditionalism.
