There’s multiple completely distinct vibrant worlds now: western AAA realistic narrative + combat, esports centric online team games, indie creative weirdness, western mobile games for moms, the huge rich Asian mobile games world, etc.

In the Sims you don’t have a single avatar. You can switch between managing different members of the family. He just switches to the painting troll and uses the interface to sell the paintings.
