Without reading the paper, it sorta makes sense. Interior structure is dimensionality reducing in phase space. So you’re squeezing more dynamics in less space which probably causes more entropic interactions. A sort of spillover effect. I could be guessing totally wrong of course

First found his work on the NFL theorems and this seems vaguely similar in spirit. Constrain here, things pop up there. Waterbed effect with a tax added.
