Has it ever happened that a victory speech has been delivered before a concession? Even in 2000 Al Gore conceded before retracting the concession iirc, right?

I guess this sort of thing is to be expected for a while. I personally find zero joy in this sort of thing tbh.

You may want to mute this account for a while because I feel I may have to individually insult every member of the outgoing administration in crude and personal ways

He didn’t have the biggest inauguration crowd but he’s definitely getting the biggest exit crowd. I wouldn’t join such crowds even without Covid but it’s interesting

He speaks much more clearly and confidentially when he’s on a relaxed winning curve and his fumbles and slight stutters show up under stress. That’s one thing he shares with Trump... he does not know how to disguise his real emotions. He just has a healthier range of them.

A splendidly mediocre speech by an optimally average speaker. Exactly what I was hoping for. He was steadily energetic and moved on stage. That physical energy and mood I think were well played counterpoints both to Trump’s physical demeanor and his sleepy-Joe line.
