I voted Warren in primaries, but I liked Biden too. Wife voted Sanders and doesn’t, but gritted her teeth and voted for him anyway.
I knew Warren was a long shot in the primaries but I was surprised by how badly she lost. I thought she was a potential center-far-left compromise.

Missed this since I was not watching tv. I’d never heard of Van Jones before, but he was impressive on the CNN panel going toe-to-toe with Rick Santorum, who was doing a decent rearguard defense for Trump.

Social distancing is going to be tough. I’m betting new case peaks in a couple of weeks.

Adding a screenshot of a censored Trump here. Something symbolic there. He was elected as the voice of a broad sentiment, turned that voice into a narcissistic self-aggrandizing 24-7 party. Now he’s been muzzled. I expect many who support him will feel personally silenced.

Pair with spotlight on Stacey Abrams who worked to actually give a voice to vast numbers of people instead of merely exploiting their frustrations

It’s reported that Stacey Abrams worked relentlessly to register over 800,000 new voters across Georgia who were affected by voter suppression in time for the U.S elections.
That is some impact

Subplot. If this keeps up they’ll be demanding a recount of the vote in Canada.

Has it ever happened that a victory speech has been delivered before a concession? Even in 2000 Al Gore conceded before retracting the concession iirc, right?

I guess this sort of thing is to be expected for a while. I personally find zero joy in this sort of thing tbh.

You may want to mute this account for a while because I feel I may have to individually insult every member of the outgoing administration in crude and personal ways

He didn’t have the biggest inauguration crowd but he’s definitely getting the biggest exit crowd. I wouldn’t join such crowds even without Covid but it’s interesting

Wow. Every. Single. Word. Of. This. If you watch only one thing today, please make it this 4 minutes, and remember what America is all about.

He speaks much more clearly and confidentially when he’s on a relaxed winning curve and his fumbles and slight stutters show up under stress. That’s one thing he shares with Trump... he does not know how to disguise his real emotions. He just has a healthier range of them.

A splendidly mediocre speech by an optimally average speaker. Exactly what I was hoping for. He was steadily energetic and moved on stage. That physical energy and mood I think were well played counterpoints both to Trump’s physical demeanor and his sleepy-Joe line.
