Dunno how I didn’t notice this before... Biden is the clear choice of us mediocre mediocre types. Trump is for those in denial about their own mediocrity. This election is a referendum on mediocrity. Enlightened embrace of it vs reactionary denial of it.

Humanity’s problem as a species is that it’s the exceptional greats who *start* every new round of the infinite game, but the enlightened mediocrities who keep it going until the next great renewal. The clueless mediocrities are the spanner in the works of this beautiful machine.

The clueless mediocrities mistake their own mediocrity for greatness, try to restart the game on an empty vision tank, break the current game, and then blame “bureaucracy” for their own profound lack of imagination and nerve.

In 2016 the right response to “Make America Great Again” was “with what?” Then as now, they had no actual answer. It was just cover for vandalism. Today, “build back better,” in the true spirit of enlightened mediocrity, isn’t even trying to lay claim to imagination or nerve.

I suppose it’s not lost on people that maga and bbb are the same reactionary sentiment. They just differ in magnitude and backward time horizon. maga: magnitude = absolute ‘great’ by some nostalgic 1955 standard bbb: magnitude = small relative delta ‘better’ by a 2015 standard

absent ant actual ideas on either side, we on the neutral planet prefer the smaller, more cautious, step backwards
