It’s actually kinda fascinating that a Biden victory now represents a weirder, more uncertain future than a Trump victory. The initial thought that it would be a reset to Clinton-Obama machine era is wildly implausible even if he wants it. Too much irreversible change already.

Trump victory scenario is just more of the same, compounding and snowballing off a cliff to a thisisfineocalypse. Biden will be caught between rock and hard place of AOC-Bernie extended universe and the Harris-Pelosi centrist axis. It’ll be interesting.

I’m sort of on Team Evil MegaCorps at this point, so politics is more of a spectator sport now than in 2020. If there were a true Bond Villain party I’d totally vote for it.

A Biden win opens up a potential youth movement in the party, with Pete and AOC and Harris representing major factions. Biden is sympathetic to all of them, so it could lead to a very generative competition. Unclear what happens in the GOP post-Trump.

I feel like Biden will be a middle of the road centrist white manages to squander any energy that Democrats roll into 2021 with, based on a long history of Democrats being bad at messaging and action. As the big tent party, any legislative success requires herding cats.
