There’s a simple reason I like tv way more than movies. A single investment in good characters can get you hundreds of hours of story for a long-running show.
Connoisseurs don’t get that getting into characters is part of the cost rather than the payoff for us middlebrow types.

Part of why I always prefer books. No TV show or movie can ever match a book let a lone a series of books. The GOT on HBO is a perfect example of that. I shudder to think of something like Jordan's Wheel of Time or Weber's Honor Harrington in the hands of a streamer.
