I’d frankly want a Dirk Gently vs Elijah Bailey final, for a final mystery set in a universe where... you don’t know upfront if it’s a regular, fantasy, or sci-fi universe
Sorry Holmes fans, he’s just cheap parlor tricks and charisma. He only looks good because of atmospherics.
Okay final. Dunno how I forgot my recent favorite detective, Bosch. Enters the tournament at #2.pic.twitter.com/v0d8v2bIg9
In case it isn’t clear, this is only detectives I’ve read/watched. If they’re not on the list I likely haven’t read any. Missed another favorite: Harley Quinn/Mr. Satterwaithe, who might be my favorite Christie pair. Only 1 short story collection y=though, and no novels.
Quinn would be closest Christie came to inventing Dirk Gently type ontological detective. He’s quasi-fantasy. The solutions are never magical, but the detection process has some magical nudging.
How on earth is Holmes not the #1 seed Holmes v Monk is the finals everyone wants to see
Who is Harry Crumb?
If Psych gets the super sniffer... ...hands down psych
