Interesting. It’s not the kind of thing I like to nerd out over, so early on wife and I just made the conservative decision to act like it was significantly more airborne and lingering than people were saying.

Some of this stuff (aerosol spread, you can get it through your eyes) was known or at least strongly suspected while it was still in Wuhan. It's been bizarre to watch it all get re-learned piece by piece over here.

There were a lot of cultural aspects about masks that played to Asia’s typical behaviors. While the seasonal flu rates are higher in Asia than US (tricky measure) mask wearing is standard. The idea of “I wear this to protect you” is not as consistent with US norms.
