Before this year, 2018 was California’s biggest year for wildfires, w more than 1.8 million acres burned. (via LA Times)

My solution to most large systemic problems is to run away from them and make tasteless tone-deaf jokes about them from a safe distance
I find that when I'm nearing breaking point is when I can appreciate way things are surreal which then leads to it being kind of funny. I think a lot about nature of humor and ability to relieve stress. Pres debate sad but also kind of funny bc already pushed to the edge.

Ridiculous. Like, things are so ridiculous that now they're funny. Even though they are definitely not funny because they are so ridiculous. It's a circular plot.
The crazy thing is we all have this 'flee to the mountains' - or where-ever - trope in our psyche but with dysfunction on this scale, there is no Arcadia. We need authentic, contemporary, environment-first leadership.
