
To put things in perspective:
Today CA's biggest wildfire season surpassed 4 million acres burned, more than double the state’s previous record.
Before this year, 2018 was California’s biggest year for wildfires, w more than 1.8 million acres burned. (via LA Times)

I guess the percent of forest land burned is still tiny so the doubling can continue until morale improves
