Not elite, actually a gig-ification of a huge swath of marketing roles, as such being produced according to market demand

lean towards no because the internet (so far) allows further and further hyper-specific niche's to evolve Social media influencers continue being able to build clout to meet the creation of new niches as people's interests and communities hyper-specialize

Influencers are produced at the same rate musicians are produced. There's a deep pool of talent doing it for next to free waiting for their big break to come in. I don't think that's necessarily overproduction, especially for a skill set that's usually self-taught.

yes and no - by definition they can only be created to meet demand, since there isn't any formal credentialing process. Like, you're an influencer if you have a following, and if you have a following it seems clear that there isn't overproduction.

Now, there are a lot of people who *could* do it, given the chance, but those are more amateurs posting for the love of the game than elites.
