What’s the opposite of foreshortened? Aftlengthened? What’s fore about it anyway?

Fore is greater than fore/aft like for but more. To illustrate före in Swedish could also mean road condition in snow typically on skies. Förlängd in Swedish would mean something like extended.

μύωψ 🙏 Language has that tendency. To add to the confusion framför means both to be ahead of like before and ~perform. To framföra is to ”put something forward.” Think a motion, a play, or speech. Fram here being like fore/aft while on a ship the fore is för and aft is akter 🙃
