I have a looooooong way to go but damn this is a worthwhile end-times life mission. I’ll get here eventually.

Jupiter this evening at 8:15 p.m., PDT (03:15 UTC September 27/28). Seeing (steadiness of the air) was very poor, but 1300 short-exposure video frames had enough information for the software Autosakkert3 and Registax 6 to get this. 10" f/7.6, 2X Barlow lens.

I didn’t realize I was capable of envy until I got into astrophotogeaphy. This is my best attempt so far 😭

This is the difference between a 4.5” and single shot vs 10” with sophisticated stacking of hundreds of shots.

Actually, I'm just learning. Stick with it; each individual frame of the video looks much like your image, but the software averages and emphasizes what's common between them. The software, Firecapture, Autostakkert3, and Registax are each freeware+$300 Zwo camera.
