The real and widespread inability to see a meaningful difference between the par-for-the-course low-grade mediocrity of Hillary and the fatally pathological nature of Trump was the first sign. Bothsidesism was the first marker of the onset of introspective blindness.

One reason I’ve been consistently and openly partisan anti-Trump on twitter for the last 4 years is that it’s been a good filter to turn off people I’d want to bozobit and kick out of my mentions for other reasons anyway. Life is short. Relationship investment capital is scarce.

Being okay with Trump is comorbid with other traits that make people simply not worth any of my fairly limited budget for investing in relationships. Intellectually I can see the case for altruistically building bridges etc. Personally, there’s more interesting people for me.
