Outsiders see the 'colony', but don't understand the behavioral and emotional implications on business relationships. Specifically the lack of trust that has persisted across generations.
This feels like a crucial point, but not a crucial detail. A crucial detail in the neighborhood might be “biz dev teams in former colonies that include a local co-lead perform better” or something.
