Starting to notice the sheer number of things that can’t be disassembled without breaking. Is there a design term for this?

Criticality in engineering and systems refers to the level of irreversible, complete failure as a result of initial failure. Tightly coupled refers to level at which you can’t untangle dependencies and relationships without great cost The things need to change/consume together

Tapping into this. Wouldn't you say that products evolving into tightly-coupled systems is reminiscent of the evolution of biological forms? You can't dissassemble a cat
