You can’t solve problems with free expression by improving expressivity of the tools of expression. You have to go reactionary and retreat to older media if you want that. The waldenponders have at least that right. You want a peaceful public sphere, go with stone tablets.

The alternative is to accept that mo’ knowledge tools mo’ discourse problems is a good thing. More intractable conflicts but also more powerful upsides in social scaling, coordination, collective intelligence. Neither or both. Can’t have one without the other.

So long as it lowers the death count and helps move off the death-count standard of pain, it’s all good.

The moral economy needs to get off the death-count standard. There are more and worse ways for people to suffer than dying. Fiat pain standard. Yes it can be abused and drive runaway victimhood inflation. But it’s better than death being the only thing recognized as “true pain”
