Success! 3d printed the lost telescope cap cover! With vanity logo too
The tolerance is a little off, so it’s not quite a snug interference fit. Wondering whether to reprint or use this with a bit of tape or something to line it for a snug fit.pic.twitter.com/WE4mbl0zt1

Okay with cooling it's loose enough it falls out. Anyone know how to measure a tiny gap so I can adjust the dimensions for a better fit? Also how much of an interference is good for PLA?

I do have feeler gauges, but it only goes as low as 0.25mm and that gauge is just a bit too thick. So I'm guessing the gap is ~0.2mm and I need to maybe add 0.3-0.5mm to the diameter to get the fithttps://twitter.com/neilggrupert/status/1299839515331162112 …

Replying to @vgr
black tape rimmed along the edge until you have a flush fit. the tape will compress over time so you may need to reapply it once or twice. don't bother reprinting, you'll get stuck in a rabbit hole of millimeter optimization for a simple one-time part replacement

Yeah, I realize that... just doing this the one time since I'm still learning and getting a feel for tolerances.
