Success! 3d printed the lost telescope cap cover! With vanity logo too
The tolerance is a little off, so it’s not quite a snug interference fit. Wondering whether to reprint or use this with a bit of tape or something to line it for a snug fit.pic.twitter.com/WE4mbl0zt1
Okay with cooling it's loose enough it falls out. Anyone know how to measure a tiny gap so I can adjust the dimensions for a better fit? Also how much of an interference is good for PLA?

I do have feeler gauges, but it only goes as low as 0.25mm and that gauge is just a bit too thick. So I'm guessing the gap is ~0.2mm and I need to maybe add 0.3-0.5mm to the diameter to get the fithttps://twitter.com/neilggrupert/status/1299839515331162112 …

Printed version 2 which fits snugly (had to sand a bit... but I’m not printing V3... I know when to quit). Just need to print and glue on a handle. Needed 2 parts due to overhang

can probably print a vase mode single wall cap to get the fit right, will print much faster than the full part

I have those too, but subtracting 1 large number from another in a coarse print job is not exactly very precise...I think I'm down to trial and error. Cant measure my way out of this.

Great work! You could line the edge with tape until it fits snuggly. Then measure with calipers, adjust the model then reprint
