“Interesting” is a portal, not a flag. A trailhead, not a spectacle. Many people with a much better eye for ‘interesting’ than me seem weirdly willing to go down the bunnytrails they spot. They kinda just stand there for a bit muttering “that’s interesting” and move on.

I relate to this in several ways- I’m not even in the top 20% of best observers I know. (I’m not even the smarter or more observant person in my marriage.

I think it's the pursuit that separates the wanderers (observers) from the hunters (chasers). Everybody has to decide what to focus on, but the hunters who dive into the brush tend to be rewarded. And they tend to make a note even if they don't pursue that particular rabbit

Matter of personality I guess. Some people go deep “with their life passion”, some people go wide with sheer curiosity and “don’t know what they want to do when they grow up”. Also some type 2 ppl think they should be type 1 cuz society tells them so (follow your “dream”)
