Still a bit gun-shy about 2 things I consider “getting serious” capital investments: a workshop desk, and a soldering iron. So far everything feels like a cheap reversible experiment, but if I buy those there’s no going back. It’s a commitment to a few years of hapless hackery.

I have a deep fear of doerist collectoritis, and probably go too far the other direction, not buying stuff until I’ve improvised some crappy alt for months to years. Fear of owning an unused ghost-town of expensive shit.
