This feels strange to say but the 90s and aughts are going to be forgotten decades in a century. The historical drama of the 80s and 10s will overwhelm the memories. We’ll be left with vague memories of internet, 9/11 and good TV. The headspace will be impossible to re-evoke.

It is strange that somewhat unpleasant but interesting and tumultuous times leave a more memorable footprint in cultural memory than relative peace and prosperity.

My life feels like:
80s
Pleasant montage
10s
No larger memories of the 70s. The first public event I can recal is the 1982 Asian games when I was 8.
My mansion will be set in a 1988 - 2010 time bubble, with an 80s nostalgia wing. The 10s will be edited out.
20s tbd.

I’d like to see memory-lane tech emerge. Time-boxed internets and VR worlds. I think even millennials were too young to remember just how pleasant the 90s were.
