Interesting discussion on Apple App Store stuff. I think I’ve never made a proper in-app purchase ever, mainly because Apple’s huge cut makes me think it’s the digital equivalent of a tourist trap. Wonder how much apple has artificially limited the market this way.

Another way to think about it: without Apple there is no market. Not sure where I come down on all this but it’s a fascinating debate.

You also don’t click on google ads. You are in a small minority though most all of your friends belong to that category too. And so is ironically probably most everyone who works at Apple.

Living in the other side of it as a developer, Apple overstates their contribution. App review is arbitrary and inconsistent. Customer disputes are impossible to resolve. Developer requested features like trials have never appeared. The tools are buggy and crude. Ah well.

now requires you add Apple ID login to your app as well (if you have FB, Google, or any 3rd party login, you must have Apple now). Also when a customer makes an app purchase, you have no idea who it is, they make it super difficult to get any info on your customers.
