America's fake vision of itself is dying, and reality is breaking through. This is not the end of the world, but it's the end of a world. Adland is imploding.

👆 what he said Was reading an article about death/coma of the fashion industry. Some designer sobbing that they might not produce a “spring/summer ‘21” collection. Meanwhile annualized GDP contraction is ~30%; 50mil unemployed. End of Adland & credit money (for the proles)

The possible became plausible. There are still so many of them that P(something) is high. and there are so many shoes that could drop. unemployment, rent, money printing, protests, riots, elections, all on top of the Setting of disease and a printing-press level revolution

Reality is a product of collective consensus, like, go to work in an office. When that changes, it becomes v difficult to predict second-order consequences. Much less tertiary. I think comm real estate will crash and rich ppl will stop sending kids to school for a while. Huge /1

See also Twilight:2000 roleplaying game, early 90s. WWIII in game involved limited nuke exchanges, city here division there, that created a slow apocalypse via degradation of complex systems. No parts, labor, etc. COVID feels a lot like that. Things ultimately getting brokener. /2
