This is going to be a very inconvenient century. I can just sense it. 1999 was like Peak Convenience. Universal basic convenience was the great achievement of the Industrial Age.

It didn't seem that way to me. Admittedly I was 19 and broke, so may have been a personal thing.
But I feel like Amazon alone is way more convenient than anything we had then.

Say more - what's less convenient about living now? I've heard from older people that it was incredibly inconvenient ca. 2000 to leave the house to shop for something if you were a parent. Now Amazon makes shopping from home easy. Big gain in convenience!

False nostalgia, you were just younger then. Then world is getting better every decade I have been alive in so many ways. Just to random list what comes to me: SSD drives, Amazon, Netflix, Tesla cars, Uber, Food delivery, Youtube, Flat Screen TVs, Steam, etc etc

We're going to be better for this, not worse. This is the turning point with a new and better "post-war" era.
