The mutual shaming classes are probably peripheral. Much of the spread and impact is in low-income, disorganized essential work sector looks like. Basically the most 3rd world type conditions within the US.

While it is annoying to see entitled middle class people not masking, or thronging on the beach, the biggest effect is likely poorer people forced to work to survive, in less visible bad workplaces. This is far harder to solve. They’re trying to stay alive, not party.
