I wonder what is the secular equivalent of a sermon, something that conveys a moral point but also engages an audience and enwraps them in a story. You would think it's political speeches, but I don't think we could think of too many recent examples that fit this bill

One thing I've always admired about the US Protestant tradition is their obsession with the text, hermeneutics, and individual interpretation. They read this shit. And like SCOTUS justices, a lot of them pay close attention to the internal logic
