some of these items rhyme almost exactly with sections in my civics series

although, we slice the topic of "elites" up in different ways; I have a much cruder split of "citizens" using a classic leader/follower dichotomy, and am less focused on a specific privileged class of "leaders" than a fluidity wherein citizens lead/follow in different domains

curious what you think -- while I agree there likely always will be circumcised groups of natural aristocracy, i wonder if you buy the argument that nobility dynamics rhyme deeply with the cruder follower/leader model of the under-the-API, disenfranchised worker class

Umm natural aristocracy is your gloss on it. I think there is always an elite but the structure and composition keeps changing with the times. I treat follower/leader briefly towards the end. It’s not cruder, it’s just the doing side where elite/masses is the being side.

sorry, I didn’t mean “natural” as in biological / immutable; I meant it as a more colloquial way of saying “inevitable”, given the structure of social organization you outlined. I think about it in terms of information management;

This is a topic where certain terms like ‘natural’ are extremely fraught 😄
