Tried to construct a superhero nemesis character as a composite of all people I know of who have made it clear they dislike me. Fun but difficult exercise. Intersection word cloud: music, dance, aesthetics, AI, sales, hustleporn, heroism, activism, inner circle, classical liberal

Note: I only included people who have known me personally and initially appeared to like me, but flipped at some point. Not people who generically dislike me as member of some group. Recommended exercise if you have the anecdotal.

I’d guess 2-3 women 9-10 men but that seems to just reflect my reader demographics. Used to be mostly older than me, now mostly younger. Suggests that’s me aging past the age band where this archetype is most sharply defined. It’s a mouldpeople grow into and out of.

This is not evil twin analysis btw. It’s direct nemesis. I have very little in common with this cluster. None of these tags apply to me.

Pattern recognition has kicked in over the years to the point I can tell quite early someone is going to dislike me. I find myself naturally maintaining arms length distance. Conservative strategy and perhaps self-fulfilling prophecy to some degree now. But antagonism is tiring.

Nemesis analysis is a lot more fun than introspection, which I increasingly lack the energy for. The insides of my head are now so familiar they bore me. Shadow chasing is more entertaining.
