There's so much even motivated and curious young people simply don't know purely due to being young. It's kinda exhausting working around that. Gotta admire K-12 and early college teachers who work around that constantly. It's like half your job is just being proactive wikipedia

This is something I’ve started to realize as I’ve gotten slightly older. When I talk to people who have no memory of 9/11, I realize how I must come across as similarly disconnected from history to people who experienced events like JFK’s shooting or the AIDS crisis firsthand.

Yeah I gotta keep reminding myself that since I'm double their age, they were actually born post-911.
It’s a pretty sobering to be reminded of the difference between knowing something and actually having experienced it. “The past is a foreign country” etc.
