it's a labeling problem that you can blame Dave Rubin for. how about "vintage" liberalism or "Locke-esque" liberalism?

Doesn't work. Liberalism has connotations of being on the edge of evolution/development and those qualifiers all have the effect of pulling back from the edge. You have to drop "liberal" as a noun if you want to do that. An accurate term would be broad-minded conservatism.
