I like this "Very Online" term. Nails it. Also, I think it's hard for VO folks to actually get much done or be very productive if all they are is VO. Far better, but for some, harder: OO (occasionally online). "Too much of anything, is too much for me" - Pete Townshend

It's not just at work, there's a correlation of being very online and clueless in all offline social interactions. The most powerful position is very online and socially aware.

I think it's also something that can't really be taught. People can improve at social interactions, or try to force more time and understanding online, but to be able to maximize value of both is kind of a luck of the draw thing. The right mix of traits for our era.
