Once you decide on an action, try giving up the goal and materially unnecessary assumptions and check if action gut-feels valuable by itself. Example: Action: carry umbrella Goal: stay dry Unnecessary assumption: it is raining/will rain Monkey say: Still fun to carry

Dunno why people complicate these things. I don’t think either Laozi or Heidegger used umbrella grade examples in talking about the Tao or being-and-time.
