Are you contemplating or have you implemented any hard-to-reverse and big long-term lifestyle change in response to covid? Like career change, moving to rural parts, etc?
If so, what?
All-in long term remote work for both of us. I'd already been doing it for 5 years when the pandemic hit, but she had never done it before. Homeschooling, which I've also supported for a long time but had never done before.
I moved to a small island in the Philippines to do the digital nomad thing here, which is much more laid-back and relaxed lifestyle with beach time all year round. I'm planning on coming back, but it's all been put on hold by COVID-19.
I haven't burned any bridges, or the proverbial ship. My clients don't care where I live—I do a lot of consulting. The US State Dept told me in February to come back or else expect to be here indefinitely. I said, "Thanks but no thanks."
